New York City - 2010
In October, just before my 50th birthday, we ventured to New York City - my first time there. I love it - so much energy!
Here we are attending the Wings Club Event at the Waldorf=Astoria.

We flew home to Colorado on Saturday.

After flying out on a Friday to Oklahoma for the game, we then flew to Denver on Sunday to watch the Denver Broncos (we changed out of our AF gear and in to our Broncos gear in the airport parking lot). After the game, we headed back to the airport and flew out that night to San Diego for business.
After San Diego, we flew out on Tuesday night for Memphis. We were going to head home, but due to my brother-in-laws illness, we changed our flight and flew to Michigan. Below: Joe and Linda Kern.

So...
Since I last wrote, there has been so much that has gone on. In July we took off for Kentucky for a Blankenship Family Reunion. Had a great time seeing all my dad's side of the family, and meeting all the new members. Our son, Trent, couldn't attend due to his Air Force duties. He was on an Ops Assignment at McConnell AFB in Wichita (ironically, he was born while we were stationed at McConnell). That was a bummer, but our son, Jacob, was able to fly out from Texas for the reunion weekend, and that was truly a treat. We hadn't seen Jacob since Christmas, and he is so missed. The reunion was a lot of fun! Below are a couple pics. In the first, a few of us surround our Aunt Dorothy. The second is of my handsome son, Jacob, and his girlfriend, Bekah Santos.
After the reunion, my sister, Donja, and her family came through Colorado on their way home, and the next day my brother, Hosia, and his wife did the same. More fun times with family! The first photo is of Tony and I at Garden of the Gods. The second is of brother, sister and I at the Royal Gorge Bridge - we had just swung over the 1000+ foot deep Gorge!
In August we set out for the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska (we had been there many times before) for a Silver Salmon and Trout fishing trip with Jimmy Jack Fishing Charters. We took my brother, Hosia - who had never been to AK - and had a blast. We stayed right on the ocean (Cook Inlet) and had a beautiful view of Mt Redoubt. It was a trip to remember.
In October, Tony and I set out on a whirlwind trip. First, we flew to Norman, Oklahoma for the Air Force vs Oklahoma football game. WHAT A GREAT TRIP! We didn't win - but almost did, and scared OK big time. But what was really great was the way we were treated by the Oklahoma people. They are a class act. (btw, it was so very, very hot and humid - yuck!)
